This is where I have some stuff that I hope people find useful.
From time to time frustration inspires me to find a solution to one of life's little problems. WotCom is an example of this.
Anything on here will be freeware unless specifically stated otherwise.
As I create or stumble across useful freeware stuff I will either put on here or add an external link.
Modern PCs often have no serial ports. Using a USB to serial adapter is the only solution but Windows appears to allocate seemingly random COM port numbers each time the adapter is inserted. Tired of chasing COM ports I wrote this applet. Insert the adapter then run WotCom to get the port number.
I have a Panasonic Lumix TZ-30 camera. It's getting on a bit now but still a great camera. The GPS had not updated since Panasonic ceased their GPS updates many years ago so I tried various methods to get around this. Finally I wrote an replacement app for Windows and a very basic one for Mac.
If you want to replace the apps on the camera drive (not really necessary), rename the downloads to match, overwrite the old ones then make them read-only (use "get info" and then click "locked" on a Mac) or they will be overwitten by the original files when the camera is powered up again.
